The top is now at 210 feet above the bottom and I hope to add 40 feet more before freezing weather.

The roof of the State. War + Navy building is progressing and if the contractors do not fail me I hope to have the building ready for the Dept on Christmas of 1882.

The President seems now to be in a fair way of recovery for which we all ought to be grateful.
