I see in the paper that [??] sailed for Europe on the 12th and trust he will arrive at his destination in safety. Ed wrote me that Mr [??] had been at West Point, and gave me all the necessary information about [Louis?] examination. After all it will depend on himself. I hope he will prevail. I don’t think it will be a good plan for his mother to go in with him. She will worry about it and it won’t help [Louis?].
I think it is a very good plan for Emma, and [??] to board near Lincoln for a few weeks.
