My dear Son
I received yours of the 11th Inst just before leaving the Pier. I thank you my Son for your remembrance of the anniversary of my birth, with such kindness and affection I cannot but think, that I am living on borrowed time.
Before going to the Pier Florida and myself went round by Boston as I wished to be there on the 4th at the meeting of the Cincinnati had a pleasant time but I found it very tiresome to [travel?] from
