well at home excepting slight colds and have gotten pretty much settled in our new home 480 M Street between 11th & 12th strs.

To break up, pack up, and transport my family and goods to this city and refurnish and get settled in this city has cost me $1500!! which I have had to take out of my [?] Capital. I only hope they will let me stay long enough her to enjoy it or rather to get the good out of it. Silas was up here for a night with his wife. They stayed with her cousin. He called to see me in the evening and at my office the next morning. Planck Weir on his way south about a week ago also called to see us. We are living very quietly and shall so continue until we get rich. Emma joins me in [?]
