My dear Father

Your last letter was dated [??] May 14th as you were about leaving for the East. I have been wanting for more time to write you but as I did not know where a letter would reach you and expecting every day to hear of your being settled I have delayed until this. Even now, I am not sure this will find you in Cincinnati where I shall send it.

I doubt very much if anything has been done in Washington about Edwards appointment. Rev [Ferenden??] whenever he has seen us which has been only three
