give me a very great expense which running would entail. It was given, I think, by [Humphreys??] if his own free will for my oder is an Engineers order and did not come through its [??].
I have got to leave the house I have been living in so long as its owner W.W. [Thoreau??] wishes it for his son.
It is very difficult to get a house in this city now and I hardly know what I shall do. I have three months however to look about it.
As soon as I get back from New York I will write you more fully.
Emma joins me in kind love to all at home.
