I presume as the fourth infantry are in New York that you will be stationed there should you be mustered out of the volunteer service. If Hunt could only now get his [?] in the harbor also it will be very pleasant for you all.
I wish you would extend your visit up here after going to the farm. both Emma and I will be delighted to have you close.
A board of Engineers are to meet here to morrow. I shall be a member of it while my moles are under construction.
