My dear Father,

I have just received your letter containing the check for which I am much obliged. Also the other letter.

I enclose the earliest letter I can find from Mr. Green and it seems to agree with the way I remember the facts and with what you say. I think I must begun to make the first sketch drawings for the Cong. Reading R's the last part of November '92 or at the latest during the first few days of December.

I think the editors remarks in Harpers Weekly are pretty tough and the last sentence
