My Dear Mother,

I am afraid the rest of the day will be raining, but I hope not, the wind however is from the S.E. That design of Harris's wasn't worth a cent. I am beginning to have a first rate time now. Last night - I went to the rocks [?] [?] to a small hop at the Atwood House I had three dances. Next time I must have a cutaway coat. I have also nearly learned the Heel and The polka + the Newport ripper. There is to be a hop at the Mount Hope this evg and a zithe} player is to perform in this house. I am going down after dinner to bowl with some young ladies if it dosent rain. Yr affec son H.
