New Haven Conn June 13, 1880

My Dear Mother -

This day will be perfectly roasting I expect before it is through judging from the temperature now. Tomorrow our examinations commence and I shall be glad when they are done with and when I can get away from this place for the summer. Wednesday afternoon Wright + I got our tickets for the game and score cards at Beir's [Ben’s?] who is the great College apothecary man here. We then walked over to Ely's room which is in West Divinity. These are first rate rooms- each set consisting of a study and two nice bed rooms, but I don't think I should like to live there, one reason being that you have to go out for your meals, this especially in winter mornings is anything but pleasant. We found Ely in and in a short time we are started for Hamilton Park - the place [strikethrough]whose[strikethrough] the game was
