came for me from Uncle Seymour acknowledging the receipt of a photograph I had sent him, and giving a long dissertation on the country and habits of the inhabitants, an old hat he had &c. Have you seen the invitation to the graduating hop at West Point - I think it is the prettiest they have had for some time. Last Sunday Mr [Stirgis?] or whatever his name is and Nellie were up here - we all walked down to the art school in the afternoon and look at the students work which was hung up for exhibition. They had a reception there Tuesday night which closed the school year. I shall be glad when the miserable examinations are over - but then it is only short time before we have to come back and go at it
