& I suppose I shall have to go at it when I go home. He gave me a ticket to the Academy Exhibition and I went there for the second time. I came back on the 4 o'clock train. I met Mrs. Curtis, who has come up from Texas & Miss LillieFrench. The steamer was about 12 days in coming up as she towed the Rio Grande, she having lost her rudder. I think I should never travel that way if I could possible help it. Everything is bright and green here now & expect it will be very warm in a short time, just when work for examinations has to be done.
