Saturday was a splendid day.
[In pencil: Harry May 2 1880]
I saw Miss Alice & Mrs Brigham who has just returned from Europe. In the afternoon Wright and I went around looking at boats way over in Brooklyn at the [port?] of 37th St. I took dinner or tea at Grandpa Casey's & saw Miss Alice [name?] and another young lady who was as ugly as a stone wall, and about as brilliant. [I though?] Julia was going to Washington - but it seems she staid home. I only staid a few minutes and left to meet Wright at the ferry - we went to see the [Ministries?] - but it didn't amount to much - took the night boat on here and got home this morning.
