My dear Colonel.

There will be a meeting of the Board on Wednesday May 2.

Evans is to be relieved to go to N.Y. Navy Yard in charge of the construction of the "Maine" -- to report there June 1st and I am disgusted. He and I "jibe", and it is impossible to say how things will go with a new Naval Sec'y. The latter has not been designated
